The Molecular Imaging Center at the School of Medicine has received a five-year, $7.1 million grant to develop innovative ways to study cancer and other disorders by monitoring the activity of cells and proteins inside the body.

Lihong Wang, PhD, the Gene K. Beare Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering, has received a National Institutes of Health Director’s Pioneer Award to explore novel techniques that promise significant improvements in biomedical imaging and light therapy.

Graham Paul, consul general of France in Chicago, will discuss “France and the Future of Europe” at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19. Following the lecture, Paul — on behalf of the French government — formally will recognize WUSTL alumna Elizabeth Gentry Sayad as a Chevalier (knight) of L’Ordre des Palmes Académiques.
